The West End of Downtown Dallas is known for its rich history. Home to the Sixth Floor Museum, more than 7 million people visit the West End each year, making it one of the leading tourist destinations in the city. But The West End offers more than history: workspace, urban residences, restaurants and shops are leading the way to an innovative future for the area. As developers refurbish century-old brick warehouses into high-tech, creative spaces for corporate tenants like Blue Cross Blue Shield at Factory Six03, the Dallas Innovation Alliance's smart cities living lab provides the foundation for civic innovation in the district. With 11 different 'smart' projects operating through the six block corridor, solutions are being tested across energy, water, transportation, public health, citizen engagement and connectivity. As the fastest-to-market smart cities initiative in the US, come see how the Living Lab came to be, what's been learned, and what's next!
There will be two tour groups, one after the other, on Monday, March 24. The meeting point will be in the lower AB lobby to catch the bus.
