Jakaria is a senior technical leader on EPRI's DER Integration team with a focus on cutting-edge DER communication technologies. He manages software development projects related to DER management systems (DERMS), DER performance evaluation, cybersecurity, and interoperability. This includes developing and implementing standard-based communications, control, and monitoring requirements to integrate DERs. He leads the development of a DER integration testbed facility with a unique capability that emulates an advanced distribution system from utility headend to edge devices. He also contributes to the development of standards for the DER interconnection process that meet crucial industry needs. Jakaria received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Tennessee Tech University at Cookeville, TN, in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
