Alan McIntyre is the Engineering Director for Southern Linc. He began his career with Southern Company and Southern Linc in 1995. He was an original member of the Southern Company Telecommunications Network Strategy Team that developed the business case for and recommended the construction of Southern Company’s LTE network. From 2010 to 2017, McIntyre participated in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standards organization and made contributions so that specifications were adopted to support Southern Linc’s LTE deployment. He led the LTE network implementation activities from 2017 through an on-budget project completion in 2021. Mr. McIntyre received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University. He currently serves on the Auburn University Wireless Advisory Board.
