Ben is an industry expert on grid interoperability. This includes the development and implementation of communications, control, and monitoring requirements to integrate distributed energy resources. He has led and served on several industry committees and standards related to grid interoperability and DERs. He currently leads EPRI's research team focused on information and communication technologies to embrace solar, storage, and flexible loads for grid flexibility and resilience He is a member of the IEEE 1547, 1547.1, 1547.2, 1547.3 and 1547.9 Work Groups. He Co-Chaired the Interop WG for 1547.2 and 1547.9.
