Ben Carls is a data science manager at Exelon. After receiving his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and doing research at Fermilab, he joined Commonwealth Edison before moving to Exelon. Ben’s work has focused primarily on customer analytics. He’s developed a wide range of use cases, from creating smart meter failure detection models to Ben’s team at Exelon is currently focusing on genAI use cases and the development of models to better predict customer power restoration in the event of an outage.
