Catherine O’Brien has worked at Salt River Project (SRP) for over 15 years and currently works in the Policy Procedures & Standards group as a Senior Engineer responsible for SRP’s Distributed Generation Interconnection Handbook. She is accountable for maintaining and piloting the technical requirements that allow customers to interconnect to SRP’s distribution system safely and reliably. Catherine also leads discussions around strategies and initiatives that help identify opportunities towards understanding new technologies and processes and how SRP could implement them effectively. Throughout her years at SRP, Catherine has led SRP’s EV Strategy, served as project manager of SRP’s Advanced Inverter Project, and provided engineering support to numerous departments within SRP, including Research & Development, Engineering Services, and Transmission Planning. Prior to working at SRP, she worked at the consulting firm ARUSI as a contractor for SRP as a project manager on various distribution design projects.
