Fei Ding

Dr. Fei Ding is a Distinguished Member of Research Staff and the Manager of Grid Automation and Controls Group at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). She received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. She leads NREL’s Autonomous Energy Systems Strategic Public and Private Partnership program. She has extensive research experience in DER grid integration, grid resilience, and distribution automation. As PI/Co-PI, she has led over 15 research projects funded by U.S. Department of Energy and Department of Defense ESTCP to develop and demonstrate advanced DER technologies to achieve autonomous energy systems and enhance grid reliability, resilience, and cybersecurity.
