Lead Engineer, National Grid

Gabriele D. Viscariello is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of New York, specializing in Electric Power Engineering with a strong focus on Clean Energy Technologies. He currently serves as a Lead Engineer in Integrated Planning and Solutions at National Grid, where he supports multidisciplinary teams across the New York business in implementing grid modernization technologies and processes to better integrate Distributed Energy Resources (DER).

Previously, Gabriele served as a Lead Engineer in DG Standards & New Technology, acting as the Utility Liaison to the Interconnection Technical Working Group (ITWG) for the Joint Utilities of NY. In this role, he developed and enforced interconnection technical specifications for distributed generation projects, facilitating their integration into National Grid’s electric power system.

As a Senior Engineer in Distribution Planning & Asset Management at National Grid, he completed Coordinated Electric System Interconnect Reviews (CESIR) and conducted protection coordination studies. Gabriele's work was instrumental in implementing grid modernization technologies and enhancing the integration of DER.

With a Master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering and extensive experience in the electric utility sector, Gabriele is committed to advancing clean energy initiatives and driving the Clean Energy Transition.
