Jeff Smith is currently the Director of EPRI's Distribution Operations, Planning, and DER area. In this role he is responsible for all distribution-related planning, operations, modeling, protection, and DER integration related research. Over the course of Jeff's career he has focused primarily on power system modeling and analysis, including T&D system planning and interconnection of renewables & DER, hosting capacity, DER planning and interconnection, as well as power quality and transient analysis. Jeff earned his BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University in 1996 and 1998, respectively.
