Kevin Gowan is a strategy engineer for the Grid Modernization department in Puget Sound Energy located in Washington State. He has enjoyed the past 12 years at PSE. Kevin’s recent efforts have been focused on maturing PSE’s approach to innovation in order to advance the electric system, guide and govern grid modernization focused new technology projects, initiated the virtual power plant project, and is a project engineer for several other specific grid modernization projects. In addition to his present role, Kevin has enjoyed his various roles in asset management planning, substation field engineering, electric distribution system planning, wind farm intern, storm response, and managing special projects. He has received his PE in Electrical Engineering, Masters in Power System Engineering, Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Spanish.  In addition to his enthusiasm for the electric system, Kevin enjoys spending time in the mountains, climbing to the top of things, traveling to other countries, and a good cup of coffee.
