Lee Krevat
Lee is the founder and CEO of Krevat Energy Innovations (KEI), a company dedicated to climate change mitigation by advising start-ups, utilities, regulators, legislators, and environmentally focused companies and communities. Lee has over three decades of experience in the energy and technology industries. While at San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E), a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, he founded and served as director of smart grid and led SDG&E’s smart grid and electric vehicle initiatives, evangelizing Grid Modernization and Electric Vehicle grid integration. Lee was twice named one of the top 100 movers and shakers influencing the smart grid market by GreenTech Media and twice recognized as a Top 12 Utility Mover and Shaker and Utility Champion by Intelligent Utility Magazine.
Since founding KEI in 2018, Lee has been invited to co-found start-ups, join numerous boards and advisory boards, and advise companies trying to make a difference. Relationships that are public include Connect California, Sustain 6, Trianon Power, RestorVault, MOEV, UCAP Power, SineWatts, Sea Dragons Energy, PI Energy, Gridwise Alliance, SCEIN, DERConnect, and most recently, ALD Technical Solutions.
Lee is a champion for sustainability on a national level. He serves on the Board of Directors of the GridWise Alliance, as the Chair of the Operations Committee, where he led the development of the Grid Modernization Index (GMI), used since 2013 to evaluate the status of electric grid modernization in the United States, to identify and promote best practices, and to provide insights to state policy makers, regulators, and other stakeholders regarding the progress of their grid modernization.
Prior to founding Krevat Energy Innovations, Lee evangelized for PXiSE, a high-speed advanced grid control and microgrid technology, led new ventures for Sempra Renewables, where he was responsible for leading the development of distributed energy solutions including solar, load optimization, bio-methane, electric vehicle charging, energy blockchain, and microgrids, led several software development teams at Tandem Computers, and was a partner at TransPac Software, a startup in Silicon Valley.
He received a bachelor’s degree with university honors in applied mathematics and computer science from Carnegie Mellon University.
Most weekends he performs in improv and musical improv comedy shows.
