Nathan Camello is a senior engineer for the Transmission / Substation Asset Strategy organization in Southern California Edison. He specializes in power systems engineering and is experienced in performing wildfire risk assessments, determining appropriate mitigations, and executing wildfire risk reduction strategies. 

Nathan began his career with SCE in 2014 and held numerous positions including protective relay test, FACTS devices and system studies and substation protection / control standards engineering. He performed several electrical systems studies using PSCAD and CDEGS to provide analysis for engineering disciplines on transient phenomena, transmission line induction, and shield wire segmentation. Nathan also has led the aerial inspections group as Quality Review Manager.

Nathan earned his Masters’ Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cal State LA University and Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly University.  He enjoys hiking outdoors, snowboarding, and spending time with his young children (1 and 3 year olds).
