Noel Rivera, Jr.
Executive Advisor, Distribution, has over 25 years of extensive experience in the electric utility industry, Noel has excelled in various management, engineering, research, and supervisory roles at some of the leading electric utilities in the U.S.. Noel's expertise spans distribution operations, T&D system planning, underground distribution, downtown network systems, load forecasting, distribution engineering, distribution equipment, transmission planning, utility of the future initiatives, and the integration of distributed energy resources and emerging technologies.
Noel’s extensive experience at three major utilities includes regional capacity planning (Pepco/Exelon); distribution engineering, area substation planning, and transmission planning (ConEd); and asset management distribution planning (PSE&G) and most recently been working at LUMA as the Director of T&D Planning and Renewable Integration and Director of Asset Management / Asset Information.
He currently works at Quanta Technology with the Distribution Team as an Executive Advisor, focusing on electrification and decarbonization, strategic undergrounding, and integration of DER and electrification in underground network systems, including the development of solutions to increase DER hosting capacity.
Notably, Noel also holds a patent for fast emergency network load transfer.
