
Pat Lo
Pat Lo is the Americas Power and Utility leader for Microsoft, where he spearheads innovative solutions and strategies in the electricity sector. His primary goal is to empower customers to achieve more with less through digital technology. Recognized as a National Best Executive in the Technology category by the Globe and Mail in 2023, Pat's expertise and accomplishments have earned him a nomination by the government of Canada as an expert in Power Systems and Flexibility Markets at the prestigious International Energy Agency (IEA).
With over 18 years of experience in the utility sector, Pat has held key positions at the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO)—where he played a pivotal role in pioneering Canada's first Distribution System Operator (DSO) Pilot and implementing energy storage into Ontario’s system resulting in a $2B addressable market—and 13 years at Hydro One implementing grid initiatives to enhance reliability 50% and increase productivity.
Pat serves on the boards of Mohawk College's Energy, Power, and Innovation Center (EPIC) and the Design Lights Consortium (DLC). He has an Executive MBA from the Ivey School of Business, Western University, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa.
