Souvik Chandra is a Senior Specialist Engineer focused on R&D of distribution protection and control in Eaton. He has worked and lead multiple projects involving new protection techniques, microgrid design and control to enhance grid reliability. Souvik is the principal investigator on multiple projects funded by US Department of Defense to reduce wildfires starting from power line faults. Prior to Eaton, Souvik has worked for Schweitzer Engineering Labs where he had contributed to innovation and development of distribution protection relays. He got his PhD from North Carolina State University in 2015. Souvik is a Senior member of IEEE and has published his work in various top technical journal and conferences.
