Syd Ulis is an electrical engineering supervisor, for Louisville Gas & Electric – Kentucky Utilities (LG&E-KU) that focuses on substation compliance and automation. Syd was hired on full time in 2014 as Compliance Engineer focused on NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). His role expanded to remote terminal unit (RTU) engineering support. In 2019 part of a reorg, his role expanded to leading a team called Transmission Substation Compliance & Automation.  His team provides compliance oversight for Transmission Substation CIP and Operation & Planning (O&P) NERC standards. His team provides engineering support for RTU and substation gateway connectivity.
