Zac Canders’ 20 years of experience in the utility industry could be seen as a natural extension of his father’s business, which itself supported utilities. Zac has always had a keen interest in the role of safety and optimizing how data is shared. Zac’s unique insights and expertise lie in leveraging emerging technologies to drive value and connecting systems and associated data to add further value. Zac started his career in distribution and design engineering at National Grid. He then consulted with utilities across the world. In 2014 he co-founded DataCapable, an emergency response and outage mapping software company. The company was acquired in the fall of 2024. Zac has supported numerous initiative in the industry including the White House sponsored Outage Data Initiative, IEEE, and many more.
